A number of prominent members of the Semantic Web community are now beginning to claim that the Semantic Web has arrived. Semantic Web search engines now index tens of thousands of ontologies and the term 'Semantic Web' regularly appears in the mainstream news and culture. Additionally, the number of Semantic Web events attracting several hundred attendees grows larger every year and industrial interest includes the majority of the large software and service companies.
The 3rd Asian Semantic Web Conference (ASWC 2008) will present the latest research and development of the Semantic Web and its related technologies. It will bring together researchers in relevant disciplines such as artificial intelligence, knowledge modeling, logic, databases, social networks, Web services, distributed computing, Web engineering, information systems, natural language processing, multimedia, and human-computer interaction.
The Demo Session is an opportunity for presenting late-breaking results, ongoing research projects, and speculative or innovative work in progress. Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of their innovation, relevance, scientific contribution, reusability, and presentation, by an international committee. Demonstrations are intended to provide authors and participants with the ability to connect with each other and to engage in discussions about the work. They are intended to showcase innovative Semantic Web related implementations and technologies.
Demo Papers must be written in English. The maximum number of pages allowed must include all figures. Research paper submissions must be formatted in the style of the Springer Publications [1] format for Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). Papers must be no longer than 2 pages in the format. Please submit papers at the ASWC 2008 submission page [3]. Demo papers must be submitted in PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) format.
A detailed list of suggested topics can be found in the calls for papers for the Research Track [2].
Papers that exceed the 2 pages limit, do not follow the LNCS guidelines or are not submitted as PDF documents will be automatically rejected without a review.
Demos are intended to convey a scientific result or work in progress and are not intended as advertisements for software packages.
At least one of the Demo authors must be a registered participant at the conference, and attend the Demo session to present the work.
